Festival....
How it all began
In 2008 our club hosted our first Dance Aberdeen Invitational Dance Festival in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Two of our local dance moms at the time, Marcea Malinowski and Carolyn Hoffert were instrumental in making this festival become a reality. Our first festival, hosted at the Centennial Collegiate in Saskatoon, was a resounding success and the first in Saskatchewan to have a Dance Off and the glass trophy that every club wanted! (Maybe that more than the award money!) The festival continues to be ran solely by volunteer organizers and dance family members and friends keeping costs minimal to ensure continued success. Aberdeen Dance Festival would also like to recognize Crystal Bidaux and Dacey Mansiere for their decade of volunteering to the Festival. It would not be what it is now without them!
Presently, our festival is now hosted at Lakeview Church in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan with over 700 dancers from over 18 different clubs participating on a yearly basis.
