Our Teachers

Ms. Alyssa Hoffert

Miss Alyssa Hoffert started her dance training at Dance Aberdeen at the age of 4 with ballet and jazz. As she became older, she developed a taste in tap, musical theatre, contemporary, lyrical and modern. At the age of 15, she started choreographing her own solos, which resulted in Alyssa realizing dance is her future.

After graduation in 2014, Alyssa moved to Vancouver to study with The Dance Initiative under Geneen Georgiev. Moving home a year later, she obtained a teaching job out at Dancers Edge in Osler. The studio expanded all the way out to Warman.

Miss Alyssa got many opportunities to teach all of her strengths, but also adding hip hop to her list of genres she is in love with.

Miss Alyssa is extremely excited to be teaching back home, where her love of dance began. She cannot wait to show others her creativity, her patience, and her awful jokes.

She can’t wait to see her dances learn in a supportive environment!

We look forward to welcoming Miss Alyssa into our dance family starting this summer, as she will be leading our Summer Camp for the 3-8 year olds.

Miss Tara Schwartzenberger

Miss Tara Schwartzenberger started with Dance Aberdeen in the2019/2020 dance season!  Miss Tara started dancing at the age of 4 at Pure Energy Dance Company in Saskatoon and was a competitive dancer until she was 19. Her training includes Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern, Contemporary, Musical Theater, Song and Dance, and Point. Over my years as a student, she was privileged enough to learn from many different and incredibly talented choreographers from all over Canada and train in different studios. Within her training, she has also received several
ADAPT and RAD examinations and will be completing her Acrobatique AcroDance Teacher’s certification in the Acrobatic Arts this summer. She has been dancing as long as she can remember and loves that she gets to share her joy for it with others. She was lucky enough to be a teacher’s assistant from a young age and signed her first official teaching contract in 2011 at the age of 16. This year will be her 9th year as a dance instructor and is excited to share this upcoming season with you all. Over many years of dance training, she was lucky enough to win numerous awards. Now as a teacher, she is humbled to still be winning awards, but this time, not for her dancing but instead for her choreography. As a teacher, she continues to train to make sure she is giving her students the best possible education and experience.

"Not many can say they have turned their passion into a career, but lucky enough for me, I can. I look forward to meeting and working with you all."
